Marketing a Vibrant Toronto
Established in 2010, Invest Toronto was created to be the City’s main sales and marketing corporation, connecting global businesses to Toronto. To help make these connections and foster new relationships, Clear Space was retained by Invest Toronto to build a comprehensive brand – from positioning and messaging to visual identity and a suite of marketing materials.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, including the President, we first aimed to position the creative strategy with the City’s brand committee. After numerous interviews, meetings and two presentations to the mayor and city executives, we arrived at a dynamic and vibrant brand that encapsulates what Toronto represents.
Drawing inspiration from the city skyline, the new brand style incorporates colourful lines or “lumens” that reflect the vibrancy and vitality of Toronto. The colourful lines also convey Invest Toronto’s role as a concierge for the city, reflecting how it leads the diverse international business community into Toronto, thus injecting even more vibrancy into our city.
